Dhofar Municipality has taken steps to enhance the efficient interaction between the society sectors and itself according to the logo implemented by it since 1971 (the Municipal work is a common effort between the Municipal and the Society). The Municipal makes every effort to reach this end by promoting its services and facilities. It depends on the innovative ideas and attitudes a matter which is appreciated inside and outside Oman. It is appreciated by the whole people.

It is to note that the adoption of the various and different activities and festivals regarding entertainment and service is an evidence of real success of the approach followed by the municipality . this approach aims at developing and promoting the municipal work to be more expanded and more spread among all the community always seeks to know and remedy the defects and to fill the gaps through the presentation of various programmes and services, provided that this effort should not be on the account of the municipal functions. the Municipality will have permanent obsession to provide the ever best services with the best ways with the co-ordination and co-operation with the rest of the social sector.

We all work together to reach our goals, we are ready to hear all parties opinions and attitudes regarding our performance. Proposals and attitudes are always acceptable in order to promoted and develop the municipal services.

As a result of the development of the Municipality and due to the expansion of urbanism for its services and to cope with the global development witnessed by the Governorate and the Municipal services expansion, increase of the Municipality role to serve the local communities ,it was necessary to give the municipality more extended administrative and organizational powers more than before so issued the Royal Decree No.(16/2003) on 22/2/2003.

Approving the new organizational structure of Dhofar Municipality which included the establishment of general directorates for the first time and than the issuance of the ministerial Decision No.(28/2003) regarding the organizational divisions for Dhofar municipality.

Dhofar municipality is one of the most important Government institutions that participates in every development project in the Governorate with its fine and sophisticated modern touches. It represents the most significant service sector in the region. It has contacts with the locals and the community in permanent basis, to provide the different and various services concerning life and environment Such as:-

• Health Services: It supervises the application of the health requirements on the staff of the different sectors and it issues the permits and health cards for the staff of the different occupations.

• General Cleaning Services: Disposes off all types of wastes in a proper and safe ways.

• Engineering Services: The municipality applies the terms and conditions of building approves the building plans and issues the permits and monitors the construction processes.

• Landscape and Plantation work: It has been given great importance through the spread of the green carpet in the different towns of the Governorate, specially salalah town, the capital of Dhofar Governorate. Many public parks have been established such as Salalah and Sadah public parks, Daharis and Taqua parks along with other recreation places and parks as salalah Al Jadida and al Qoof, Al Zawya and Salalah Al Gharbia.
